It's a cold and wet Thursday morning here in Leece. So i am thinking, i will just be lazy and confine myself to the four walls of my hotel room.
Last night's dinner was great. We requested the chef to make us Pasta Picante, translation, pasta pedas. Simply done in olive oil and lots of chillies. Perfecto.
Since there is nothing much happening here today, let me introduce you to the town i will call home for the next four months, Lake Garda.
Lago Del Garda, as its called in Italian, is situated at the foot of the Alps. It is the biggest lake in Italy. It takes an hour to drive from one end to the other. There are about twenty five towns around the lake.
The town that we are in is called Descenzano Del Garda. Located at the southern end, it's more modern than the other towns around the lake.
At the happening part of the lakeside, which is just walking distance from our house, you will find plenty of cafes and gelatarias. There is also a lovely marina where boats are moored . And the most gorgeous part, to me, is when you look at the lake you see ducks and swans gliding through the water. The old lighthouse, as you can see, is also beautiful.
I just read that many masters of Italian opera composers, like Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti were born and worked within an hours radius of Descenzano Del Garda. So, it must be the lake air that is bringing out the writing in me. But the closest i can get to Opera would be me screaming at Daim to get up every morning!
Big hugs to all.
William, thanks for the lovely pictures..
You make me want to quit my job and move to Europe! LOL! I think that will happen sooner rather than later if you keep this up!
