Love & Light

Hi dolls. A thousand apologies for my sudden disappearance.
Sometimes being away n left on your own suddenly give you a lot of time to do whole lot of thinking about life. Priorities, objectives, purpose, choices, and the list goes on and on. There is one thing i know that all of us desire in life, happiness.

The law of attraction says that positive thoughts attract only the positive. Everything that is coming into your life, good and bad, you are attracting. Constant complaints attract the negative.

My life has been very blessed so far. So i am doing quite well in this law of attraction thingie.

However everybody has their own set of problems. To help me overcome mine, my first move as of today is to only think of good things. Every thought has a frequency. So if i send out good frequencies, i will only attract good. Do good, think good, act good will only attract good. No more complaints n no more negative thoughts. So dolls, heres sending u all love & light.

As Mahatma Gandhi says,
"Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become yourwords. Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviors. Keep your behaviors positive becauseyour behaviors become your habits. Keepyour habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny."

Lemongrass Heaven

The closest Asian Food store is located in a town called Breschia, about half an hours drive from home.
When we first arrived, i went three times and all three times the shop was closed. This is something i know but have to drill in my head to get used to it. Italians and their siesta hours. Shops close for three hours after lunch, seriously. Especially in small towns, immediately after lunch, all small shops close.
Driving there on my forth attempt, i kept my toes crossed. Yes, it was open.
When i stepped in, the biggest smile appeared on my face. Keep in mind, i am an Asian food freak. I don't mind the occasional steak and pizza but given a choice i would go for my nasi lemak or noodles.
They had it all (not all but good enough for me). From my roti canai to my instant noodles to tom yam paste. I didn't mind paying Euros 2.50 (RM10) for lemon grass & Euros 2 (RM8) for pandan leaves. As long as i had the ingredients to cook, i am happy.

That's Ashraf the butcher below. He cleans and cuts my meat any way i like.
And the first time we went.,he introduced the boys and me to nearly everyone in the shop. Here's the new kid in town. Haha... Ciao dolls. Rome here i come...

Sunny Sunday

The skies must have heard my calls. It opened up and the sun shone its brightest since i have been here. I loved it.
The town centre was full of people dressed in their Sunday best. I asked a local why they were flocking to the town centre and he said because the sun was out and it marked the beginning of Spring.
There was Sunday market too. It was interesting the things they were selling. From fur coats to antiques. Wish i had Sham, the girls or any one of you with me to enjoy the afternoon.
I managed to get a few shots (my personal favourite is the two old ladies in fur) for all of you. If any of you girls fancy any of the fur coats here, let me know. I will get one for you and hope PETA won't come knocking (but am sure its faux). Hugs..

Jam, Malay style..

Well some people bottle jam when they find extra fruit.
Guess what this Malay Aunty aka Makcik did. I found some green chillies at the supermarket and i made sambal hijau, green chilly salsa (can i call it that?), from whatever i had. This is going to be my stock for the next week! Yum yum!!

Supermarket Sweep

Su's Blog, food edition.

Yes! i found ginger, one of the very few Asian stuff i can find here and that too was at a bigger supermarket.
But check out what else i found.

How we take this little sprout for granted. They have bottled it. Taugeh aka bean sprouts in a bottle.

As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words!

Tomorrow
The food fairy knocked on my door and i am one HAPPY gal (and soon to be, one fat one).

Car wash, Italian Style

We got our new car yesterday.
So let's bring it for a car wash. Silly me, suddenly went into Malaysian mode and thought of Bangladeshi men doing it for you while you sat and fiddled away with your phone. Then Italian reality set in.. No such thing babe, its all DIY!! But lucky me, i did have one Bangaldeshi worker with me..

My morning walks

It is a Sunday morning, the temperature is zero degrees celsius. I could either stay in the comforts of my warm home or start my run/walk regime. I chose the second. I braved myself, took a deep breath n stepped out of the door into the cold. This starts my daily routine...
